Georgia On My Mind

Published January 1, 2014 by Jana

I made it to Florida safely.  I had to go through Georgia to accomplish this.  Georgia is a very tall state.  Driving I-75 through Georgia is even longer than driving I-81 through Virginia, it is that tall!

I have been through Georgia many times, but have never actually stopped and done anything.  That has not changed.  Other than getting gas, I have still done nothing in Georgia.

And there are things I want to do and see there.  I wonder why it is never the terminus, just somewhere I need to pass through to get to the real destination.  I think that will change.  I am going to stop somewhere in Georgia and do something, if not on my way west, then on my way back.  Not sure what yet, I will have to do a little research.  Send ideas!

On Sunday night I parked at a Wal-Mart with a Chili’s next to it.  I got there around 9:00 in the evening and went to the Chili’s hoping to catch the Eagles game.  They had it on and I got to watch them win!  They closed at 11:00 but the bartender left me watch the entire game while he did his closing work.  We talked during commercials.  I told him about heading to Jensen Beach and visiting my cousin, Tammy, who lives in Stuart.  He is from Stuart and his family is still there.  Small world . . .

In the morning, I noticed my parking lot neighbor.  Wow, I wish modern RV’s would have color choices like that!  Vintage colors can be stylin’!  I would so choose colors like that, too bad I am not more mechanical, because I am sure the upkeep on that would be too much for me.

I will say the campground in TN may have spoiled me for any others.  This one in FL is definitely a step down, clearly rather old and very little updating.  And no wi-fi, quite disappointing.

I will post when I can, probably when I visit Tammy and can use her internet access.  I will be there New Year’s Day for pork and sauerkraut, I will have my good luck meal even though I am not in PA.

I like the following quote and thought it appropriate since I am in Florida.

Later Gator!
