I took a vacation from my vacation. Aunt Janet, Uncle Kent, a few of their friends and I went to White Tank Mountain Regional Park for a few days.
It was “camping” for me, with the finger air quotes. I just unplugged my house, stowed a few things and drove to the park and hooked back up. It is certainly not the camping of my youth.
But we had a great time. Went for a few hikes, had a few campfires, made s’mores, hot dogs and toasted marshmallows. I even made potatoes with garlic over the fire on the last night. They were delicious! Why do we not cook over a fire more often?
I will put pics up tomorrow as well, since there are too many for one post.
This is Don, of Don and Kathy. I love this picture. It was just a quick turn and snap thing, I wasn’t even looking in the viewfinder, but it’s a great expression! He reminded me, just a bit, of my Pappy.
