Vegas, Take 2

Published February 23, 2014 by Jana

I’m in Las Vegas again.  Last time I was here I was so tired from all the traveling the previous week I barely did anything.  I wandered around, gambled a little, soaked in the super bathtub in my suite at the Venetian and took very few pics.

This time I am in all out tourist mode.  I am going to be here nearly a full week, in my house.  I am parked at Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort, several miles from The Strip.  And yes, it is a resort.  I will get pics of the place up later, but it is an amazing 5 star place.  They even have 24 hour armed guards who man the gate as well as patrol the grounds, so I am being good!

I found it through Passport America, so I get to stay for half price, otherwise I wouldn’t be able to pry my wallet open to pay the nightly fees.  They have over 700 spaces!

I have been going like crazy so be patient for posts, and there will be many!  The first day I spent 14 hours on The Strip and Downtown and shattered my previous daily picture count.  I took 804 pics that day.  Whew!

I am using the public transportation since I don’t have a car and didn’t want to deal with the hassle of trying to park.  It is only a 15 minute walk from my house to the bus stop.  I have to change buses to get to The Strip since I am on a ‘residential’ route, but it works pretty well.  I’ve been taking a taxi home at night because I’m tired and don’t want to walk that area in the dark.

Here’s my house in the resort, with a couple apartment buildings in the background.

Stay tuned for more!
